Est. 1929
Our history
The Grand has carried Monto's stories since 1929. We're turning the timeline wall inside the pub into a webpage - so locals, travellers and family of past owners can find it online.
1929
The Grand is established
The Grand Hotel opens its doors on Newton Street, Monto - a heritage country pub built to serve a growing North Burnett farming community. 'EST. 1929' has carried the building's story ever since.
Mid-century
A community cornerstone
Through the decades the Grand becomes a fixture of Monto life - the place for a cold beer after work, for celebrations, for travellers passing through cattle country.

Owners & changes
Hands that shaped the pub
Successive owners and publicans leave their mark on the building - the bar, the dining room, the verandah. (Names, dates and building changes to be added from the timeline wall and local records.)

Today
Reno's underway
The Grand is being renovated for its next chapter - 'something old, something new, same great Monto spirit.' Reno's first cold beers are coming, and a new chapter of the story starts here.
