    The Grand is established

    The Grand Hotel opens its doors on Newton Street, Monto - a heritage country pub built to serve a growing North Burnett farming community. 'EST. 1929' has carried the building's story ever since.

  2. Mid-century

    A community cornerstone

    Through the decades the Grand becomes a fixture of Monto life - the place for a cold beer after work, for celebrations, for travellers passing through cattle country.

  3. Owners & changes

    Hands that shaped the pub

    Successive owners and publicans have left their mark on the building over the years - the bar, the dining room, the verandah - each keeping the Grand at the heart of Monto.

  4. Today

    Reno's underway

    The Grand is being renovated for its next chapter - 'something old, something new, same great Monto spirit.' Reno's first cold beers are coming, and a new chapter of the story starts here.
